Description:

A postdoctoral position is available in the Neuroscience Department at the University of Connecticut Health Center to study embryonic stem cells. The focus of this research will be exploring the mechanisms underlying the neuronal subtype specification and the degeneration from embryonic stem cells, and generating enriched populations of specialized neural cells for potential therapeutic application (Nature Biotechnol. 2005, 23: 215-221). The trainee will gain wide exposure to state-of-the-art stem cell biology, developmental biology, molecular biology and neurosciences. Candidates should have training in cell biology, molecular biology, or neurosciences. A strong background in cell culture and molecular biology is an advantage.
